The following instructors are available for clinics at Sea Star Stable. Please visit their website for more details where available. These are extremely talented and helpful instructors! On top of the instructor fee, a $15 ring fee applies to all participants, visitors and boarders.

Jumping

Molly Kenney: Molly Kenney is an accomplished hunter, jumper and equitation trainer. She has ridden and worked in the U.S. and Europe, with top trainers such as Beezy Madden, qualified in the USET finals, and was in the top 20 for the Maclay National Championship for 2 years.

Molly’s relaxed, systematic approach to jumper training has taken her the to Grand Prix level. Being sensitive, and feeling the horse and teaching her students the same is one of Molly’s hallmarks. You’ll have a more forward, fluid horse after working with Molly.

Molly has been working with Kara with both Pippin and Manta Ray for over a year with amazing successes. Molly also works with Jocelyn and Val and Pete and Smokey.

Dressage

Susanne Winslade: An instructor of classical dressage who specializes in correct alignment of horse and rider. Kara and Jocelyn have been working with Sue over the past winter, and thoroughly enjoy their lessons. All three horses have seen remarked improvements in a short period of time! Sue teaches on Friday afternoons a few weeks a month at Sea Star Stable

Sue Kenney-Downer (yes, Molly’s mom!): Sue was Kara’s very first riding instructor back in the early 80’s! A series of coincidences brought them back together. Sue is very correct in her training and has a very soft way of communicating to both horse and rider. Kara has been working with both Sue and Molly, which has formed a dynamic learning experience for both horse and rider! Sue teaches at Sea Star Stable from May to October.

Sue Kenney-Downer has been teaching riding for 30 years. Beginning her career in the hunter and jumper world, she became interested in flat work for jumpers and ultimately found the world of dressage. While competing at the FEI level, Sue was fortunate to have trained with Kathy Connelly, Robert Dover, Michael Poulin and Pam Goodrich. Sue has also ridden in clinics with Walter Christensen, Louise Nathorst and Herbert Rehbein.

Teaching has now become her main focus. Sue has students training and competing from training level through the FEI classes. She develops the horse and rider using the training scale to educate the rider and gymnastically develop the horse.
