Pippin

2001 TB bay gelding with Seattle Slew bloodlines. Pippin came to SSS on September 11th 2004 as a scrawny 3 year old. He has since blossomed into a very competitive event horse. Pippin has been in the top 12 of every event he has attended. Since starting training level in 2006, he has been in the top 8 including top 5 places at UNH Fall Horse Trials and Huntington Farm. He has received many compliments from top-level trainers and competitors such as Jimmy Wofford and Darren Chiacchia. Pippin loves cross-country and is getting bolder with each new course.
He loves treats and as long as you don’t look at him the wrong way or touch him with out his consent, he is a very sweet boy!

Major 2007 Accomplishments:
7th UNH Spring in Open Training
2nd King Oak in Open Training, also received the low score award for all training rides for his 25.3 (an unfortunate rail down kept him from first!)
2nd GMHA Spring in OT
Completed GHF I in OT
5th in OT at GHF II
7th GMHA Aug in OT (competing w/ terrible hives!)
9th GMHA Training Level 3-day
9th Huntington PT division
30th at the American Eventing Championships out of 55 in the Training Horse Division (competing against Leslie Law, Boyd Martin etc). Pips earned a 37 in dressage, had 2 speed faults (oops!) and 1 rail down.
Tied for 1st at UNH fall in the PT division with a 37.3 in the Prelim. B test!

5th UNH Fall HT at OT (out of 30 would have been 3rd if not for that rail!)
5th at Huntington Aug. in OT (would have been 2nd if it wasn’t for a pesky rail down!)
6th at Kingsbury Hill Aug. in OT
8th at Apple Knoll HT at his first OT (4th after dressage but a “are you sure mom” at the drop caused us to earn an unpleasant 20 penalties)
2nd at GMHA schooling 2-phase in OT
6th at King Oak Spring HT in ON
5th at UNH Spring HT in OBN
